I use small, 115 Volt grinding machines to remove those unsightly coatings and to flatten concrete floors in Orange County and Los Angeles. You can imagine how long it takes me to remove stubborn coatings with my one-guy operation. So if you need it done overnight, I'm probably not the concrete floor grinder to hire.

Concrete Polishing

Concrete polishing is a tankless task. Customers have an ideal in mind when they have residential and commercial concrete floors polished. Perhaps they've seen a picture in Concrete World or elsewhere. In any case, my experience informs me that it doesn't matter how well a concrete floor polishing turns out. It can look like a concrete mirror; customers still expect their concrete floors to have a solid, monolithic appearance. What they get are polished concrete floors with a bunch of cracks and holes in them. In no way can I fill these cracks and holes to give the appearance of a nutural stone floor.

Staining

Staining, yes, concrete staining can help. But it will not create a natural stone floor appearance in many cases. What it does create are many square feet of concrete floor with a stained appearance. Sometimes this appearance has a very pleasing affect on those new to it. Place a nice coat of wax or searer on it and it can sparkle while giving a brilliant shine. Expecting it to have perfection to the square inch asks too much of concrete. With that said, sometimes select areas of concrete become open to artistic designs without much serious flaws. So yes, stained concrete has possibilities. It's always best to test before setting out on a large Concrete Polishing and staining operation.

Plus, a concrete floor requires more than grinding for a finished or near finished appearance. It must be honed. Honed means that a floor grinding preceeds a floor's preperation for polishing. Some people prefer a honed look with staining. Honing takes place when diamond pads create a smoother surface for a ground concrete floor.

If for some reason you must have your concrete floor polished, then ask someone else. Then if you still insist on calling me, which previous customers continue to do, then consider my fees will range up to $4 per square foot. Plus, keep in mind that I MUST work at my own pace. When I do concrete polishing I must have time.

Plus, keep in mind that Concrete Polishing, honing, and polishing do not turn out polished corners and poorly polished concrete floor edges.
